Karin S. Hardy

VICE PRESIDENT AND SENIOR TRUST OFFICER

Karin Hardy joined Deseret Trust Company in January 2021 as a trust officer administering the online Donor-Advised Funds. Prior to joining Deseret Trust Company, she worked for the Ford Foundation in New York City, a law firm, and as an adjunct instructor in communication (media law) at the University of Utah. She spent seven years as a development officer with PBS Utah, 10 years managing the planned giving program at the University of Utah, and two years as director of gift planning at Utah State University.

Karin’s main responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing and supervising all trust team functions
  • Coordinating business development efforts
  • Serving as the Secretary to the Executive Committee and Assistant Secretary to the Board of Trustees
  • Serving as Chair of the Investment Review, Information Compliance, Policies and Procedures, Discretionary Distributions, and Account Acceptance and Termination committees

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor of Arts (Communication)—University of Utah
  • Juris Doctorate—J. Reuben Clark Law School, Brigham Young University
  • Master of Arts (Communication)—University of Utah
  • Certified Trust and Fiduciary Advisor – American Bankers Association
  • Member of the Utah State Bar, the Estate Planning Council of Northern Utah, and the National Association of Charitable Gift Planners
  • Board member of the Salt Lake Estate Planning Council
  • Past board member of the Utah Planned Giving Roundtable and the J. Reuben Clark Law Society—Greater New York Chapter
